Participants of professional chats are discussing the new draft law on the transition to single-stage design during the construction and reconstruction of linear facilities. The corresponding law will come into force in the autumn. The authors of the document are confident that then pipelines, power lines, railways and motor roads will be built and reconstructed faster and cheaper. The engineers who will implement this idea view it as “one more experiment” and are debating whether it will be successful or unsuccessful. The editorial staff of the “Geoinfo” journal prepared an overview of the discussions from professional chats and additionally asked some experts about the new draft law.
